Kolkata, India – A police complaint has been filed against TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee by an advocate, Rinku Chatterjee Singh. The complaint alleges that Banerjee's public remarks, particularly during her recent speeches and media interactions, are prejudicial to national sovereignty and public order.
The advocate filed the complaint at the Cyber Police Station in Siliguri on Wednesday. In it, he accused Banerjee of making 'provocative and inflammatory statements' against several constitutional institutions including the Election Commission and armed forces. These accusations were purportedly made during a TMC event held on June 2, where Banerjee claimed to have been privy to confidential discussions with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
According to Singh's complaint, Banerjee was questioned about her statements during these events. He stated that such allegations were made 'with the apparent intention of lowering the image and credibility of the Union Government before the international community.'" \n + "
