On Thursday, India took a significant step towards bolstering its ties with South America by meeting the country's Acting President, Delcy Rodriguez. The high-level encounter between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rodriguez at Hyderabad House marked an important chapter in deepening energy security, trade, and investment relations.
Modi's Meeting: A Comprehensive Discourse on Bilateral Relations
The meeting came just a day after External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with Rodrueguez, reiterating India's commitment to strengthening its relationship with Venezuela. Jaishankar expressed his pleasure in greeting Rodriguez and highlighted the longstanding cooperation between both nations.
"Deeply value her longstanding commitment to the India-Venezuela relationship," he stated, emphasizing the mutual benefits expected from further cooperation.
Rodriguez's five-day working visit to New Delhi aims at enhancing bilateral ties. Accompanied by a high-level delegation including key ministers such as Foreign Affairs, Economy and Finance, Science and Technology, Communication and Information, and Transportation, Rodriguez is set to engage in extensive discussions on various sectors.
"A warm welcome to Acting President Delcy Rodriguez of Venezuela on her arrival in New Delhi. During her visit, she will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi," added the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

The discussions are expected to cover a wide range of areas including energy security, trade and investment, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, transportation and renewable energy.
