Constituents in Uttarakhand had their plans for a face-to-face meeting with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi dashed as harsh weather conditions forced the cancellation of his scheduled rally. The inclement天气迫使印国大领袖拉胡尔·甘地取消了原定在阿勒乌拉举行的集会,与当地选民的直接接触也因此泡汤。

The Kumaon region's adverse weather deterred further progress from reaching Almora, leading to Gandhi's return via Pantnagar airport after the helicopter could not proceed. Despite the cancellation, Gandhi conducted a virtual address addressing party workers and supporters, as well as discussing the case of Ankita Bhandari, which had drawn public attention.

Following this unfortunate turn, Gandhi expressed his disappointment, stating that he wanted to meet people in Uttarakhand to discuss political and economic situations. 'We were heading today morning to discuss with people. Unfortunately due to bad weather, we could not reach Almora from Pantnagar airport… I wanted to meet you and talk about the political and economic situation of Uttarakhand but due to the weather conditions, this cannot be realized now,' Gandhi added.

While preparations for the rally were in place, state Congress leaders shared that the programme could not proceed amid the ongoing unfavourable atmospheric conditions. The two-day scheduled visit of Gandhi included a public meeting in Almora, a rendezvous with ex-servicemen in Pauri and meetings across various locations in Mussoorie.

Virtual Engagement: Despite the cancellation, the Congress leader found another way to stay connected. Gandhi interacted virtually with parents of Ankita Bhandari, reinforcing ongoing support for community issues.
