Min Aung Hlaing's delegation includes Cabinet ministers, senior officials, and business leaders, underscoring the importance placed on this historic visit. Prior to his arrival in India, he paid homage at the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya, highlighting civilizational and spiritual ties between the two nations.
Key Discussions
National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met with U Min Aung Hlaing on Sunday. Later, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar conducted a private audience with the President and expressed appreciation for his positive approach toward enhancing bilateral ties. Jaishankar stated in an official post, 'Pleased to call on President U Min Aung Hlaing of Myanmar today. Appreciate his positive sentiment towards deepening our longstanding cooperation.'
The External Affairs Ministry spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, welcomed the visit, emphasizing civilisational and spiritual ties between India and Myanmar.
During the bilateral discussions, topics included economic partnerships, cultural exchanges, and regional stability. Jaishankar's office mentioned that these conversations would focus on mutual benefits and deeper integration among nations sharing historical and cultural bonds.
