BRS MLA Vows Probe Into HAM Road Works Upon Returning To Power

Concerns over the management of infrastructure projects have surfaced in Telangana, as a prominent political figure has vowed to initiate an investigation into specific road development initiatives. BRS MLA Guntakandla Jagadish Reddy recently stated that if his party regains power in the state, they will launch a formal probe into the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) road works currently being executed.

Speaking at a meeting organized for booth-level agents in Bhongir, the BRS leader leveled serious allegations against the current administration led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. According to Jagadish Reddy, the government is allegedly collecting commissions from contractors involved in these HAM road projects. He argued that the overall costs of these infrastructure developments are being artificially inflated multiple times to facilitate these alleged financial irregularities.

Allegations of Mismanagement and Infrastructure Issues

Beyond the concerns regarding the HAM road works, the BRS legislator highlighted potential long-term impacts on the public. He cautioned that under the current model, there is a distinct possibility that toll plazas could be established in rural areas, which would place an additional financial burden on local residents. Furthermore, he criticized the performance of ministers from the erstwhile Nalgonda district, specifically naming N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. He claimed that these leaders have neglected essential development and prioritized personal agendas, asserting that no meaningful progress has been achieved in the region over the last two-and-a-half years.

The critique extended to the state's agricultural management as well. Jagadish Reddy pointed out significant lapses in the paddy procurement process, noting that, in several centers across the Yadadri-Bhongir district, the purchase of crops is yet to be finalized. This delay has raised questions about the efficiency of current government services in supporting the local farming community. During the same gathering, the BRS MLA instructed his party's booth-level agents to remain vigilant throughout the ongoing Special Intensive Revision process of the electoral rolls. He emphasized the necessity of ensuring that the names of genuine voters are protected and not incorrectly deleted from the registry.

As political discourse intensifies in the region, these allegations regarding HAM road works and administrative failures are likely to remain key points of contention. The promise of a future inquiry highlights the growing scrutiny over infrastructure spending and government accountability in Telangana.
