Kakinada: Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan of Jana Sena Party has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its lukewarm response following a media analyst's report suggesting that Jana Sena leaders met Union Home Minister Amit Shah to recommend his arrest. Prof Nageswar, a political analyst, made this claim, adding that Shah advised Jana Sena not to target former chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, also stating that the BJP's alliance with Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is 'temporary.'
Speaking at a meeting of parliamentary constituency-level party workers in Rajamahendravaram on Monday, Pawan Kalyan expressed his disappointment over BJP leaders' silence. He called Amith Shah's actions 'great,' praising him for helping the BJP gain power in 18 states and countering established parties in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Kalyan emphasized that when Amith Shah faced criticism, senior BJP leaders did not respond as they should have. Pawan Kalyan drew a parallel with the recent political success of Vijay, an actor who achieved his victory through intense campaigning in Tamil Nadu. In contrast, he highlighted the limited mass base Jana Sena enjoys in Andhra Pradesh compared to TRS.
Addressing past challenges and setbacks, Pawan Kalyan vowed to tackle any criticism within the party more assertively. He mentioned that for 12 years, his actions have been seen as reflecting patience rather than inefficiency, but he warned of repercussions if any future criticism persists against him or other JS leaders.
Kalyan also directed efforts towards recognizing and rewarding deserving party workers by forming committees. Plans are under way to complete this process by August 14. The JS chief called on all party members to strongly counter external criticisms, suspending the leadership of Jana Sena in Prakasam district as a first step.
Jana Sena's Challenges and Aspirations
While defending Amith Shah, Kalyan highlighted JS's broader aspirations. Despite his strong presence for 12 years, he has not been able to become the chief minister due to prevailing political conditions in Andhra Pradesh (AP).
'My patience reflects commitment rather than inefficiency,' Pawan insisted, while affirming that alliances are made to fulfill the aspirations of the people. He pledged to address current circumstances to make JS a stronger party and ensure its future success.
