Kolkata - The West Bengal cabinet grew bigger this week with the swearing-in of 35 new ministers on Monday, as part of a larger reshuffle headed by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. Underpinning the growth is Governor R N Ravi who administered the oaths at the historic Lok Bhawan in Kolkata.

The expansion reflects an ongoing effort to strengthen administrative oversight and expand governance across various departments, ensuring a wide array of public services can be better managed. Among those newly sworn are Arjun Singh, Dipak Barman, Shankar Ghosh, Gauri Shankar Ghosh, Tapash Roy, Manoj Kumar Oraon, Jagannath Chattopadhyay, Ajoy Poddar, Swapan Dasgupta, Dr Sharadwat Mukherjee, and Kalyan Chakraborti.

Commitment to Public Welfare

Arjun Singh, a key figure in the new cabinet, emphasized his readiness to assume responsibilities aligned with both party objectives and public needs. In a statement to ANI, he stated: "I always take on new responsibilities and strive to fulfill them." Stressing his commitment to public welfare, Arjun Singh also highlighted, "Whatever the government wants, the party wants, or the people want, we must rise to the occasion – that is our priority."

Previously, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced this expansion in a social media post, indicating his continued commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of West Bengal's people. Emphasizing the democratic nature of the government, he stated: "The full Cabinet of the democratically elected Nationalist State Government of West Bengal will be sworn in at the Lok Bhawan."

The 35 new ministers bring the total strength of Suvendu Adhikari's administration to a significant 41 members, bolstering its capacity for governance and policy implementation.
