Hyderabad: In a startling turn of events, Shaik Rahim, 27, allegedly murdered his wife Asmara Begum (24) after a family dispute, prompting a tragic yet swift surrender at the Kukatpally Police Station on Thursday. The young couple, who had been married since last year and shared a home in Indiramma Colony of Kaithalapur within Moosapet, was under frequent tension due to domestic issues. Their son was just one-and-a-half years old.

According to the police reports, Rahim worked as an auto-rickshaw driver and Asmara Begum was a homemaker. They were reportedly engaging in continuous disagreements that resulted in multiple confrontations, with both of them lodging complaints at the local police station for the domestic troubles they endured.

Homicide Details

On Thursday morning, an argument escalated into a violent confrontation, leading Rahim to fatally stab his wife's throat with a knife. Realizing the gravity of his actions, he proceeded to turn himself in at Kukatpally Police Station shortly after, paving the pathway for the swift apprehension.

The police quickly arrived on scene and transported Ms. Asmara Begum's lifeless body to Gandhi Hospital mortuary for a thorough post-mortem examination. Authorities have filed a case against Rahim and secured his custody pending further investigation into this heinous crime that has shocked the community.
