A thunderstorm alert has been issued for several states across India, with strong winds and heavy rainfall expected. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, West Bengal, and Sikkim are under a warning of heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds that could blow at speeds up to 60 kilometres per hour.

Moderate Rainfall Alerts

The IMD has also warned about moderate rainfall in Odisha, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Arunachal Pradesh. In Nagaland, Manipur, and Mizoram, a warning for intense rainfall is active. This weather condition could potentially impact farmers' Rabi crops, leading to significant damage.

Eastern regions are likely to witness a drop in temperatures ranging from 2 to 3 degrees Celsius due to the forecasted rainfall. The situation has already caused some temperature dips in Southern India as well. People have been advised to remain indoors during this adverse weather period and avoid venturing out, especially in these areas.

For North India, particularly Delhi, light clouds will hover over the city starting April 12th. While some showers are expected, the overall temperature forecast reveals a gradual rise to an average of 33 degrees Celsius during the day but with nighttime temperatures dropping to around 21 degrees.

In Uttar Pradesh, severe heat conditions are likely tomorrow according to IMD. As many as 15 districts including Meerut, Aligarh, Mathura, Agra, Bareilly, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Kanpur, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, and Deoria, are bracing for intense heat waves without any rainfall expected.
