Light to moderate rainfall has blessed the city of Hyderabad, providing much-needed respite from a sweltering summer. Sunday saw brief showers across various localities including Shamshabad, LB Nagar, Balapur, and Uppal, leading to cooler and more comfortable conditions. The skies remained cloudy during the day, reducing the intense heat that typically accompanies Telangana's summer season.
IMD Issues Warnings for Several Districts
In an effort to ensure public safety amidst the rain and strong winds, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Hyderabad issued orange warnings for Nagarkurnool, Nalgonda, Rajanna Sircilla, and Ranga Reddy districts. Yellow warnings were spread across Adilabad, Jagtial, Kamareddy, Karimnagar, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mahbubnagar, Mancherial, Medak, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Sangareddy, Siddipet, and Vikarabad. Gusty winds of 40 to 50 km/h accompanied the rains in some areas, causing temporary disruptions.
Experts predict that the Southwest Monsoon has advanced further into west-central parts of Telangana and the north-east Bay of Bengal. This advance is expected to continue for another 2-3 days, bringing rain to central Arabian Sea, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and additional regions in Telangana. The IMD noted, 'The conditions are favorable for continued progress of southwest monsoon into these areas.'
