Hyderabad: In a startling crime crackdown, Manoj Singh, a 28-year-old inter-state burglar from Delhi, was apprehended in Goa for allegedly stealing valuable jewellery worth around Rs 82 lakh. According to the police, Singh used his stolen gains to fund an extravagant lifestyle, including hiring luxury cars and dining at high-end restaurants.

Manoj is a known culprit with at least 19 burglary cases on his record, making him a persistent thorn in law enforcement's side. He frequently visited Goa where he often indulged in lavish spending patterns, befitting someone who had run up significant debts from stolen funds. Police say that Singh even promised to purchase a scooter for his girlfriend and went a step further by running high bills, at times more than Rs 10,000 per visit.

Crimes Uncovered: Singh's Motive Sheds Light on Modus Operandi

Fresh from his release from Tihar Jail in April, Manoj Singh traveled to Goa and Mumbai. His travel history reveals a pattern of spending stolen money lavishly, before finally targeting a house for burglary in Market police station limits. The carefully planned thefts underscored his thorough understanding of potential victims.

Upon receiving the burglary complaint, Market police formed several teams and analyzed over 100 hours of CCTV footage from various public places. By tracing him to a lodge in Nampally, authorities later learned that Manoj had used an expensive taxi service for his trip to Goa, costing Rs 12,000.

The final sting operation led to Manoj's arrest and recovery of the stolen ornaments undamaged. Singh's capture marks a significant victory for law enforcement in curbing inter-state criminal activities which have been rampant in recent years.
