Local authorities have emphasized that completing and handing over this mandatory documentation to the designated Booth Level Officer (BLO) is essential for ensuring that names are correctly captured in the official draft electoral roll. Failure to participate in this verification drive could result in exclusion from the final voter registry.
Understanding the Mandatory Voter Enumeration Process
The Hyderabad district electoral office has confirmed that door-to-door visits by BLOs are scheduled to commence on June 25, continuing through July 24. R.V. Karnan, the GHMC commissioner and district electoral officer, highlighted that this voter enumeration form process requires citizens to provide a recent photograph, fill in the necessary personal details, and sign a formal declaration. Notably, officials have clarified that no additional address proof or supporting documentation is required to be submitted during these visits.
To facilitate a smooth operation, BLOs will be equipped with forms that already contain the elector's photograph. If a household happens to be locked during an officer's visit, guidelines state that the BLO should leave the form behind. Officials are mandated to make at least three attempts to collect the completed paperwork. Once submitted, citizens will receive an official acknowledgment, while the data is processed via the BLO/ECI Net mobile application.
Digital Options and Electoral Participation
For those who prefer a digital approach, the Election Commission of India has provided an online alternative. Existing electors have the flexibility to download the pre-filled voter enumeration form and submit their details via the official website, www.voters.eci.in, or the dedicated ECI App. While online submissions are encouraged, local officials will still conduct field verifications to ensure the accuracy of the records.
The initiative also involves 10,901 Booth Level Agents (BLAs) from recognized political parties who will assist the BLOs throughout the process. Residents should be aware that Form-6 is intended for new voter enrollments, while Form-8 should be utilized for reporting shifts in residence or making corrections to existing details. To signify the completion of the process, identification stickers will be placed on residences where the enumeration has been successfully carried out. Citizens are encouraged to check the official portal and contact their local Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) if their name does not appear in the draft lists.
