Authorities have officially established a July 15 deadline for the completion of essential new amenities at the Sri Kanaka Durga Temple. Commissioner of Endowments K. Ramachandra Mohan issued these directives during a recent site inspection conducted atop Indrakeeladri to ensure that infrastructure upgrades are ready in time for upcoming religious festivities.

The inspection focused on several key development projects designed to enhance the experience for thousands of visiting devotees. During the visit, the Commissioner was accompanied by the temple chairman, the executive officer, and various engineering representatives. He began by reviewing the recently renovated Ashirvachana Mandapam, noting his approval of the high-quality flooring improvements already finalized at the site.

Enhancing Devotee Facilities at Indrakeeladri

A primary focus of the July 15 deadline involves the new Annadanam building and the Prasadam Preparation Centre (Potu). These facilities, situated at the temple's foothill, are currently in their final construction phases. Commissioner K. Ramachandra Mohan advised officials to implement specific architectural modifications to improve overall crowd management and increase comfort for the pilgrims who visit the shrine in large numbers.

To ensure all logistical requirements are met, the Commissioner instructed the executive officer to collaborate closely with the Vedic Committee. This coordination is essential to finalize a suitable date and auspicious time for the official inauguration by the following Monday. Contractors and engineering personnel have been directed to work on a war footing, ensuring that every pending task is finished before the target date.

These infrastructure enhancements are deemed critical as the temple administration anticipates a surge in pilgrim turnout during the forthcoming Ashadha Sare Samarpana and Shakambari festivals. Officials believe that having these new facilities fully operational before these events will significantly streamline services and improve the overall experience for devotees.

Commitment to Modern Infrastructure

Beyond the immediate projects, the Commissioner highlighted the government’s ongoing commitment to modernizing the Sri Kanaka Durga Temple. He emphasized the necessity of expediting land acquisition processes for the proposed new queue complex. This development is part of a broader strategy to provide modern amenities and robust infrastructure for the thousands of people who visit the holy site annually. Temple Trust Board chairman Borra Radhakrishna and Executive Officer V.K. Seena Naik were present during the review to ensure these ambitious goals remain on track.
