Secret Alchemist began as an extension of Ankita's mother's 24K Remedies venture. Her mother, a certified clinical aromatherapist, had been working with essential oils and therapeutic formulations during a time when these practices were largely unfamiliar in India. The brand's name reflects its therapeutic soul, evoking the image of age-old healers and creators.

The shift towards clean beauty was not an accident for Ankita and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, co-founder and actress respectively. Both had personal health journeys that highlighted the need for more transparent and safe fragrances.

Secret Alchemist's Clean Perfume Line

The turning point came when Samantha joined as a co-founder. Together, they launched India's first clean perfume line with complete ingredient transparency. The brand publishes openly ingredient and allergen lists, providing something rare in the fragrance industry.

Developing these formulations was no small task. Ankita realized quickly that aromatherapy knowledge alone was insufficient. Expert perfumers were brought on board to blend essential oils with safe synthetics and green alcohol. The research and development process took nearly nine months before the final product was ready.

Launch of Hair Perfume

Secret Alchemist has expanded its offerings, introducing hair perfumes that cater perfectly to India's unique needs. In a country with diverse climates and a wide range of lifestyles, people desire fresh-scented hair beyond traditional body fragrances.

The brand launched Mystic Santal, inspired by traditional Indian hair rituals, and Mineral Sage, featuring sage from Himachal Pradesh. The aim is to evoke the deep cultural heritage of India while providing modern-day quality and transparency.
