In a significant development in Adilabad, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) raised concerns over the state government's failure to adequately address issues related to farmers' welfare. Floor leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy alleged that the Rythu Bandhu and paddy procurement schemes were not being executed as promised.

Addressing a farmers' meeting at Sarangapur in Nirmal district, on the final day of 'Rythu Gosa – BJP Bharosa' program, Reddy highlighted that less than 40% of paddy had been procured. He further challenged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to visit areas such as Nirmal, Peddapalli, and Sarangapur to assess the current situation at procurement centers.

Farmers Face Distress Despite Government Claims

The meeting also revealed that farmers were incurring additional expenses on transportation and procurement materials due to a lack of government support. Despite traveling approximately 1,000 kilometers over four days, party leaders interacted with farmers and claimed these conditions persisted.

Malkajgiri MP Etela Rajender warned that farmers might respond politically if their distress continues. Other BJP leaders like Payal Shankar criticized the state government's procurement policies. They alleged that farmers' produce was not being purchased adequately, leading to financial distress due to delays and rain-damaged crops.

The session brought representatives from farming communities and local residents together, underscoring a renewed demand for timely procurement and comprehensive support measures.
