Home-Based Service for Life Certificate Submission
For EPS-95 pensioners who face difficulties due to age or health issues, the Postal Department has introduced this innovative service. All they need to do is place a single call to 033-22029000, and a postal worker will make their home visit at no cost.
Previously, elderly individuals had to travel long distances or face delays in the submission process, which could lead to interrupted pension payments. This change ensures uninterrupted pension services for eligible recipients.
Pensioners who find it challenging to submit their life certificates due to any reason can now access this convenient service that accommodates their needs at home.
Why the Life Certificate is Important
A life certificate serves as a critical document for EPS-95 pensioners. It confirms their continued eligibility for receiving pensions by verifying their status through postal department records. Failure to submit this certificate on time can result in suspensions of pension disbursements, disrupting income streams.
Introduction of Digital Life Certificate
In addition, pensioners have the option to submit a digital life certificate known as Jeevan Pramaan. This document uses advanced biometric and Aadhaar technology for validation. Pensioners can download this electronic proof using their identification details.
Timeline for Submission
Every EPS-95 pensioner must submit a new life certificate within one year of the last submission or Jeevan Pramaan. Strict adherence to this timeline ensures continuous pension benefits and minimizes administrative issues.
