As the chairman was being moved from the site of the protest, a large and frustrated crowd voiced their anger, directing shouts of “thief, thief” at him while pelting him with eggs. To maintain order and ensure the safety of the accused amidst the high-tension atmosphere, local police utilized the Bhagirathi River as a transport route. He was subsequently brought to the Jiagunj Police Station, where he remains held as investigations continue.
