A daring daylight Bengaluru businessman robbery involving a staggering sum of Rs 1.09 crore has sent shockwaves through the local business community. The victim, a 41-year-old entrepreneur who operates a scooter dealership, found himself targeted by a group of seven individuals who orchestrated a sophisticated and terrifying criminal operation.
Details of the Targeted Robbery in Bengaluru
The victim, R I Shiva Shankar, was allegedly lured into a fraudulent investment scheme involving a firm identified as A.N.R.S (American Nuclear Research System). The perpetrators reportedly initiated contact under the guise of legitimate business opportunities, setting the stage for what would become a major case of dacoity. According to official reports, the suspects, including individuals named Mohammed Parvez, Allis, and Johnson, began their interaction with the victim in early June, successfully extracting initial funds before escalating their activities.
The situation turned violent on June 15 near Kuduregere Colony in Dasanapura Hobli. While the businessman and his driver, Chethan M, were traveling in their Honda Amaze, their vehicle was forcibly intercepted by an SUV. The gang, brandishing firearms, coerced the occupants into their own vehicle. This calculated Bengaluru businessman robbery resulted in the loss of Rs 74 lakh that was being transported in the vehicle's trunk. The criminals did not stop there; they further intimidated the victim's family, successfully obtaining an additional Rs 35 lakh from his residence.
Police Investigation and Legal Action
Following the harrowing ordeal, the victim was abandoned near Nelamangala with dire warnings to avoid contacting law enforcement. Despite these threats, Shiva Shankar pursued justice and filed a formal complaint at the Madanayakanahalli Police Station on June 16. The authorities have responded swiftly, registering FIR No. 605/2026 under critical sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, specifically addressing charges of kidnapping for ransom and dacoity.

Law enforcement officials are actively working to identify and apprehend the seven suspects involved in this organized crime.
