In a deeply concerning situation, the Kakinada police are now entering their 12th consecutive day of an intensive missing toddler search operation. The two-year-old girl vanished on June 6 from Ch Agraharam village in the Kakinada district, sparking a widespread search effort that spans across forests, hills, and nearby water bodies. Local authorities are leaving no stone unturned as they probe various potential leads, including abduction, wild animal encounters, and existing family disputes.
Ongoing Multi-Agency Search for Missing Child
The investigation into the missing toddler search involves a robust team of professionals, including local law enforcement, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), as well as specialized dog squads and technical forest department experts. Kakinada SP, G. Bindu Madhav, has personally visited the village to engage with the child’s parents. According to reports, the child was last observed near a plantation fence around 11:50 am on June 6, accompanied by the family’s pet dog.
The initial search perimeter of six kilometres has been significantly expanded to ten kilometres to ensure thorough coverage. Investigators are meticulously examining CCTV footage from all routes surrounding the village and questioning various transport operators to rule out the possibility of the child being removed via vehicle. Furthermore, authorities have analyzed telephonic signal data, identifying approximately 170 mobile numbers active in the vicinity during the incident. Police have also conducted extensive questioning of residents, seasonal workers, and nomadic groups known to frequent the area.
Examining Multiple Investigation Angles
A significant aspect of the missing toddler search focuses on potential wildlife interactions. Given that the nearby 500-acre forested hills are known to house jackals, wild boars, pythons, and wild dogs, forest officials are working alongside police to assess these risks. The role of the family’s pet dog, which returned four days after the incident in a distressed state before sadly passing away, remains a point of interest. While authorities acknowledge the lack of concrete proof for abduction, they continue to investigate personal rivalries and family-related tensions as potential factors.
