According to reports, the incident unfolded in Mahadeipatana village under Aul police limits, where Gouranga's family lives. On May 29, Arun Kumar Sethi, Gouranga's father, lodged a complaint at Aul Police Station alleging that his son was attacked following a dispute over vehicular vandalism.
