The Lords Institute of Engineering and Technology (LIET) in Hyderabad recently hosted its prominent international hackathon, HackPrix Season 3, which concluded successfully after a rigorous 36-hour coding challenge. This major event attracted over 550 talented student innovators, organized into more than 150 teams, hailing from 25 Indian states and several international locations. The competition focused on driving excellence in emerging technologies, including Generative AI & Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Blockchain & Web3, IoT & Embedded Systems, Sustainable Development, and Open Innovation.
Showcasing Global Innovation and Technological Talent
The scale of the initiative was substantial, with organizers reporting more than 3,500 initial applications. Following a thorough screening process, approximately 900 candidates were shortlisted, from which 550 finalists emerged to compete for a prize pool totaling ₹3 lakh. The event emphasized practical application over theory, encouraging participants to develop real-world solutions for industrial and societal challenges. The competition was bolstered by support from major industry partners, including Google Gemini, Sarvam AI, MongoDB, ElevenLabs, and Vultr.
Currently, the evaluation of the projects is underway. To maintain complete fairness and integrity, the submissions will undergo a comprehensive community review alongside a rigorous cheat-check process. Organizers expect to announce the final results within the next week. This commitment to transparency is a hallmark of the HackPrix Season 3 experience, ensuring that only the most deserving and impactful innovations are recognized.
Bridging the Gap Between Academia and Industry
The closing ceremony featured insights from several distinguished academic and industry leaders, including Najeed Khan, Founder of Stealth AI and Agent V OS, who served as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries present included Dr. R K Singh, Principal of LIET; Syed Basha Mohinuddin, Chairman; Dr. Rizwana Begum, Secretary; and Syed Touseef Ahmed, Vice Chairman. These leaders highlighted the necessity of providing students with experimental environments that cultivate entrepreneurial mindsets and advanced technical expertise.
Dr. Ch Santhan Kumar, the event convenor and Dean IQAC, noted that the third edition served as a clear indicator of the rising potential among young engineers. By facilitating collaboration between students, mentors, and industry experts, HackPrix Season 3 creates a vibrant ecosystem designed to foster professional growth.
