Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud has expressed strong optimism regarding the party's future in the state. During a recent media briefing held at the party headquarters in Hanamkonda, the leader asserted that the Congress is well-positioned to secure over 100 seats in the state Assembly whenever elections are conducted. This declaration comes as the party continues to emphasize the perceived success of its welfare and developmental initiatives.
Political Outlook and Opposition Criticisms
During the conference, Mahesh Kumar Goud highlighted that the party is steadily gaining ground across the state, fueled by positive public feedback. The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy, and various other party representatives. The leadership maintains that the current administration's programs, such as free bus travel for women, the substantial waiver of farm loans amounting to ₹23,000 crore, and the provision of fine rice, are foundational to their growing influence.
When questioned about interference from leaders of other states, the TPCC president responded by stating that such external comments are unnecessary. He specifically referenced Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and actor Chiranjeevi, noting that while they are respected for their contributions to the film industry, their commentary on Telangana politics is unwarranted. He further suggested that the public is acutely aware of political stances taken during the historical movement for statehood.
