Chief Minister Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh performed a special puja at the centuries-old Bhojshala temple complex in Dhar district, following its recognition as a temple to Goddess Saraswati by the High Court. This visit marks his first since the landmark ruling and signifies the culmination of a 750-year-long struggle.

Accompanied by State Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Yadav paid homage at Vagdevi's sanctum sanctorum. To honor those killed in an earlier struggle, he offered incentives to three widows, each receiving Rs 5 lakhs and called the slain individuals 'martyrs.' The incident occurred during a conflict over the complex's status as a temple.

Development Plans for Bhojshala Complex

The chief minister announced plans to develop Bhojshala into a grand Saraswati Lok, akin to Mahakal Lok in Ujjain. He also proposed establishing a Raja Bhoj research institute there. Revered as the premier centre for knowledge and scholarly discourse under King Bhoja (Bhojpal), it is now poised to reinstate its historic legacy.

Yadav's efforts are geared towards revitalizing the ancient complex, making it a hub for education and cultural heritage preservation. He stressed that Bhojshala stands as an eternal symbol of India's rich knowledge tradition, attracting scholars from across the nation in recent centuries.

These initiatives aim at strengthening Madhya Pradesh's reputation as a repository of knowledge and culture. In a significant turn of events, the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) revised its earlier order, permitting continuous worship within the temple premises.

The state government also launched several developmental projects in Dhar to further support these objectives.
