N. Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has set a 6-month deadline for resolving the long-standing issue surrounding AgriGold. During a review meeting at the Cabinet on Thursday, Naidu emphasized the need to counter misinformation being spread by opponents and demanded more effective administrative response from his team. He highlighted that despite the government's efforts to extend support by sanctioning 31 new posts, grievances of AgriGold depositors persist.
In Action: Steps Towards a Comprehensive Solution
Naidu directed officials to form a Group of Ministers (GoM) tasked with proposing a comprehensive resolution within the next half year. He also reviewed the DSC recruitment controversy and instructed ministers to counter any misinformation, ensuring accurate information about government programs is disseminated.
A public outreach campaign was called for, instructing ministers to document and present key achievements of the past two years by June 28. The CM underscored the importance of transparency in governance and noted recent successes such as an increase in pulse production, along with efforts towards growing seafood output. Additionally, he directed officials to identify and resolve similar land-related issues throughout the state.
Naidu also addressed the farming community, advocating crop diversification and scientific rotation practices for enhanced productivity.
The focus on swiftly addressing AgriGold will enhance public trust in the government's commitment to resolving financial disputes. This initiative, coupled with comprehensive transparency efforts, is expected to improve governance at all levels.
