The Central Government has reaffirmed its firm commitment to the overall progress of Andhra Pradesh, emphasizing that the state's development remains a top priority under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Union Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi recently highlighted the proactive measures being taken to bolster connectivity to the state capital, Amaravati, as part of the broader Andhra Pradesh development agenda.
In an official statement, Pralhad Joshi underscored that the administration is actively working to enhance both railway and road infrastructure linking to Amaravati. This initiative is designed to ensure that the state capital is well-integrated with the national network, thereby facilitating better logistics and accessibility for the region.
Strategic Infrastructure and Financial Support
Minister Pralhad Joshi pointed out that the central authorities have been in close consultation with state leaders, including Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, to better understand the specific needs regarding the Amaravati capital project. The government has already extended significant financial support to these efforts, allocating Rs 15,000 crore specifically for the development of the capital city, supplemented by an additional Rs 11,000 crore through the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO). Furthermore, resources have been sanctioned for a dedicated railway corridor to service the capital region.
Reflecting on the broader economic landscape, the Union Minister noted that India has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past decade. He observed that while the nation's economy faced significant decline prior to 2014, it has since successfully pivoted to become the fastest-growing major economy globally. This economic resurgence has been bolstered by landmark achievements, including becoming the world's second nation to reach total railway electrification and achieving an eightfold growth in electronic manufacturing.
The collaborative efforts between N. Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and state BJP president PVN Madhav are seen as a cornerstone for current state-level progress. Minister Joshi also confirmed that the Central Government intends to apply a similar strategy of development and connectivity enhancement for the neighboring state of Telangana, aiming to foster regional growth and prosperity across the southern states. As Andhra Pradesh development remains a focal point, the integration of central and state efforts continues to serve as the primary vehicle for achieving these long-term regional objectives.
