Hyderabad is set to witness a significant diplomatic gesture as Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy prepares to inaugurate ‘Donald Trump Avenue’ near the US Consulate on June 23. The upcoming naming ceremony will feature the presence of the United States ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, highlighting the strengthening ties between the region and the United States.
This initiative follows a proposal originally introduced by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in December of last year. The naming of the street is intended to honor global leaders and international corporations that have played a pivotal role in transforming Hyderabad into a primary global hub for IT innovation. This event is being coordinated to coincide with the lead-up to the US Independence Day celebrations, scheduled for July 4.
Strengthening Strategic Business Ties in Hyderabad
The inauguration of ‘Donald Trump Avenue’ is expected to garner international attention, symbolizing the deep-rooted business relationships between the city and the United States. These connections continue to drive substantial investments, job creation, and mutual economic growth. The state government has explicitly stated that this move aligns with its broader ambition to position Telangana as a cornerstone of an innovation-driven economy, with further plans to recognize tech giants such as Google and Microsoft in similar fashion.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy initially outlined his vision for these honors while addressing the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) conclave held in Delhi. This strategy gained momentum ahead of the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025, where the government sought to formally appreciate global corporations for their significant contributions to the city’s development.
Currently, numerous Fortune 500 companies have established a strong presence in the region, including major firms such as Costco Wholesale, Eli Lilly, HCA Healthcare, McDonald’s, and Nationwide. These organizations have successfully set up or announced new technology centers and Global Capability Centres (GCCs) within the city over the past two years. Other notable entities like Vanguard, US Bancorp, T-Mobile, LPL Financial, and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals are also deepening their local investment commitments.
The city has increasingly become the preferred destination for new GCC units, particularly within the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector. According to the Nasscom GCC Landscape Report 2026, an impressive 50% of all new BFSI GCCs launched in India during 2025 selected Hyderabad as their home, a trend largely attributed to the city’s vast talent pool in financial services.
