Tax Filing Simplified with Kar Saathi
Kar Saathi, a chatbot powered by artificial intelligence, addresses all tax-related queries in real-time. It is aimed at making navigation straightforward for those filing returns for the first time and reducing the need to consult Chartered Accountants (CAs) to understand minor regulations.Furthermore, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), led by Chairman Ravi Agarwal, has unveiled a new initiative called PRARAMBH. This move aims at simplifying tax forms significantly under the new Income Tax Act, 2025. It has reduced the number of rules from 510 to 333 and cut down forms from 190,000 to just 52. This initiative positively impacts over 6 crore transactions by reducing compliance burden.
According to Chairman Ravi Agarwal, The simplification will directly benefit taxpayers involved in over 6 crore transactions,
highlighting the scale of the impact on everyday Indian citizens and businesses alike.
While users have expressed initial enthusiasm for Kar Saathi, concerns remain about site stability during peak traffic periods. A user noted that there can be slower response times due to increased traffic, especially during busy return-filing seasons. Yet, they hope this time the service will provide reliable support without such hiccups.
In an effort to embrace digital transformation, the new tax website offers a simpler navigation and faster usage experience for all income tax-related information. One wonders how effectively these changes will be received and utilized by taxpayers across India as they strive towards greater transparency and efficiency in their tax processes.
