The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for the year 2026 has officially released its notification. Registrations are now open with a period of one month starting from March 27, 2026.

Interested candidates can register by visiting their official website updeled.gov.in. This online registration process will commence during the last week of March.

To prepare for this test, candidates must first ensure they meet the eligibility criteria, including having completed graduation from a recognized institution. For those intending to apply for classes 1-5, a certificate in D.El.An Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) is required; while applicants for classes 6-8 need to hold at least one of these degrees: B.Ed., D.El.Ed., or B.El.Ed.

The exam pattern remains consistent with the previous years. Students must complete a total of 150 questions, each worth a mark, covering subjects such as Child Development and Pedagogy, Hindi, English, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. There is no provision for negative marking in this test.

For those interested in class 6 to 8 TET testing, the pattern will include additional subjects like Science, Social Studies, and Social Sciences. With each correct answer awarding one mark and no deductions for wrong answers, candidates should expect a total examination duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes.

The exam is scheduled to take place on July 2nd through the 4th, with a Exam City Slip issued by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission on June 22, 2026.
