As part of a proactive statewide initiative to prepare for the monsoon, the TGSPDCL (Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited) has launched the “Poles and Lines Special Drive – Walk Along the Line.” During the second day of this intensive campaign, the Chairman and Managing Director, Jitesh V. Patil, took to the field at Anand Nagar Colony in the Khairatabad Circle to personally inspect the power infrastructure.
The primary focus of this high-level field review was to ensure a consumer power grievance response remains swift and efficient throughout the upcoming rainy season. From 9:30 am to 11:00 am, the TGSPDCL leadership conducted a meticulous line-to-line survey of the distribution network. This assessment covered critical components including electric lines, utility poles, distribution transformers, jumpers, and various service connections, aiming to identify any potential vulnerabilities in the grid.
Enhancing Monsoon Preparedness and Consumer Response
During the onsite inspection, Jitesh V. Patil mandated that department officials immediately prioritize the rectification of any identified network deficiencies. Key areas for urgent attention include clearing pending maintenance tasks, resolving line clearance issues, and replacing damaged infrastructure that could threaten the stability of the power supply. The administration is keen on minimizing disruptions, particularly as weather conditions become more challenging.
Furthermore, the TGSPDCL head emphasized the necessity for field personnel to remain accessible to residents at all times to address any consumer power grievance effectively. He underscored that field staff must adhere to strict professional standards, including maintaining a prescribed dress code and utilizing essential safety gear, such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and proper line tools, while executing their duties.
To bolster grid resilience against the monsoon's impact, officials have been instructed to accelerate necessary maintenance on distribution transformers, feeders, and both Low Tension (LT) and High Tension (HT) networks. Preventive measures, such as systematic tree-pruning and proactive line clearing, are being prioritized to prevent outages. By continuously monitoring their respective jurisdictions and addressing infrastructure weaknesses before failures occur, the TGSPDCL aims to provide high-quality and reliable electricity to all consumers. This rigorous drive is part of a broader commitment to operational excellence and disaster readiness across the state's power distribution system.
