TGSPDCL CMD Leads Infrastructure Inspections to Ensure Uninterrupted Power During Monsoon
TGSPDCL Chairman Jitesh V. Patil has launched comprehensive field inspections and maintenance efforts, including a region-wide tree-trimming campaign, to ensure a stable, uninterrupted power supply and strengthen infrastructure resilience ahead of the upcoming monsoon season across the CURE area.

Highlights
- •TGSPDCL CMD Jitesh V. Patil launched a monsoon preparedness drive to ensure uninterrupted power.
- •Field inspections of substations and 11 kV feeders are underway across the CURE region.
- •A widespread tree-trimming campaign along 11 kV feeders starts Wednesday to prevent line damage.
- •Senior engineering heads reviewed safety protocols and emergency response plans for Medchal and Rangareddy zones.
To prepare for the approaching rainy season, TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Jitesh V. Patil has initiated an intensive field inspection drive. This proactive measure aims to ensure a reliable and uninterrupted power supply for residents across the region, minimizing potential outages often caused by severe weather conditions.
Strengthening Grid Infrastructure for Monsoon Resilience
During his recent visit, Jitesh V. Patil personally reviewed the condition of critical electrical infrastructure, including poles, distribution transformers, conductors, insulators, and other essential line hardware. The inspection commenced at the 11 kV Venugopal Nagar feeder, which originates from the 33/11 kV Tirumalagiri substation located within the Secunderabad circle. By identifying vulnerable points in the network, officials hope to preemptively address issues that frequently lead to power disruptions during heavy rainfall.
In addition to these field assessments, the utility has prioritized a comprehensive maintenance strategy. A major initiative involving extensive tree-trimming along 11 kV feeders throughout the GHMC area is scheduled to begin this Wednesday, with completion targeted for the end of the month. Maintaining clear corridors for power lines is a vital step in preventing damage caused by falling branches or tree contact during stormy conditions, thereby safeguarding the integrity of the power network.
Reviewing Emergency Preparedness and Operational Plans
Following his on-site inspections, Jitesh V. Patil presided over a series of monsoon preparedness review meetings focused on the Medchal and Rangareddy zones. These high-level discussions brought together senior engineers and zonal leadership—including Dileep Kumar, P.V. Ramesh, Karunakar Babu, Chakrapani, and Pandya Nayak—to evaluate the utility's readiness.
The sessions centered on confirming that robust emergency response arrangements are in place, alongside verified plans for line clearances and transformer safety protocols. By coordinating these efforts across the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE), the TGSPDCL intends to minimize the impact of the monsoon on public utilities. The focus remains on maintaining operational stability and ensuring that rapid maintenance responses are available to restore service immediately should any unforeseen technical faults occur despite these precautionary measures.
