Hyderabad, India – In a bid to support underrepresented students seeking higher education abroad, the Telangana state government has launched the Chief Minister's Overseas Scholarship Scheme for Minorities. The initiative caters to postgraduate and Ph.D. students who have secured admission at select foreign universities, including those in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Germany, South Korea, Japan, France, and New Zealand.

The scholarship offers financial support of up to ₹20 lakh along with a one-way airfare subsidy of ₹60,000 or the actual ticket cost, whichever is lower. Applications are being accepted online from June 1, 2026, until June 30, 2026, by 5:00 PM through an official portal. Eligible applicants can apply with proof of admission dating between January 1, 2026, and June 30, 2026.

Eligibility and Application Process

To qualify for the scholarship, minority students must have secured a seat in postgraduate or doctoral programs at recognized international universities. The application process involves submitting original academic transcripts and ensuring parents are present during document submission at designated district offices.

Authorities warn that all submitted documents will be rigorously verified to prevent misrepresentation. Candidates caught providing false information face severe consequences.
