Combating Drug Abuse for a Healthier Society
During his address, Shiv Pratap Shukla highlighted that drug abuse poses a severe threat, causing profound damage to individuals, their families, and the wider social fabric. He encouraged citizens, with a specific focus on the youth, to embrace healthier lifestyle choices and prioritize wellness. The Governor reinforced that active participation from all sectors of society is essential to achieving the collective vision of a “Drug-free Telangana – Drug-free India.”
Echoing these sentiments, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy noted that the proliferation of narcotics not only destabilizes families but also fuels significant law and order challenges. He underscored that residents bear a social responsibility to remain alert to illicit activities. The Chief Minister called upon the populace to channel their energy into promoting positive and productive thoughts among the younger generation, thereby strengthening the mission to ensure the state remains free from the menace of illegal narcotics.
To tangibly mark the significance of the day, various awareness initiatives were organized across the region. Notably, the Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar led a community-focused event in the district headquarters town of Vikarabad. The state's dual strategy involves both high-level policy advocacy from leadership and grassroots engagement to ensure that awareness reaches every corner. By integrating official campaigns with community-led events, the government aims to create a sustainable environment where youth can thrive away from the dangers of illicit substances. The involvement of key state figures serves to highlight the severity of the issue and the urgency with which the administration views the need for comprehensive reform and preventative action across Telangana.
