PM Kisan 23rd Payment Delay: Farmers Urged to Get Unique ID

Highlights

  • PM Kisan 23rd installment: Direct crediting requires AFID
  • States requiring AFID: Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, etc.
  • AFID application through online portals or CSC centers
  • Expected PM Kisan 23rd installment release date

The central government's PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme has seen 22 successful installments, each distributing an annual amount of ₹6,000 to eligible farmers. Now, as the 23rd installment is set to be disbursed anytime from June or July 2026, it's essential for farmers to comply with new regulations.

To qualify for this payment, farmers must possess a Unique Farmer ID (AFID), which enables direct bank account transfers. Without an AFID, farmers may face delays. Several states requiring an AFID include Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Assam.

How to Obtain a Kisan ID Card

Farmers can apply for their ID cards through the agriculture portal or by visiting Community Service Centers (CSC) or special camps set up across these states. The process ensures that funds are deposited directly into farmers' bank accounts, streamlining disbursements and avoiding unnecessary delays.

The PM Kisan Yojana releases three installments annually, spaced out every four months. Given the last installment was issued in March 2026, June or July 2026 marks the anticipated month for the crucial third installment. Farmers should act quickly to safeguard their payments.

The introduction of this new requirement underscores the government's commitment to efficient and secure disbursal mechanisms, ensuring funds reach eligible farmers without delay. Prompt compliance can mean the difference between immediate financial support and potential delays or even loss of benefits for some farmers.
