Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu recently conducted an insightful visit to Linganguntla village located in the Palnadu district, where he championed the state's strategic focus on child nutrition and sustainable agricultural development. His visit served to underscore the government's commitment to community welfare, eco-friendly farming practices, and environmental conservation initiatives.
During the visit, the Chief Minister participated in the Swachh Andhra–Swarna Andhra and Annadata Sukhibhava programs. At the local Anganwadi centre, he focused on enhancing child care standards by officially distributing induction stoves and stainless steel utensils as part of the state's Net Zero initiative. To mark his commitment to environmental sustainability, he planted a sapling on the facility grounds. N. Chandrababu Naidu also spent quality time interacting with the staff to review the quality of nutrition provided to local children, the status of pre-primary educational programs, and the support services available to pregnant women and nursing mothers.
Promoting Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Farming
A significant portion of the Chief Minister's visit was dedicated to evaluating the progress of natural farming in the region. He toured the fields of local farmer Gudipalli Nagabhushanam, who has successfully adopted natural cultivation methods over the past four years. The farmer reported that these practices have effectively reduced operational costs while simultaneously boosting soil health and agricultural output. N. Chandrababu Naidu lauded these efforts, noting that the state administration is eager to promote such models to mitigate the detrimental impacts of excessive chemical fertilizer usage.
The visit also included an inspection of a traditional oil extraction unit, where the Chief Minister observed cold-press methods used for groundnut, coconut, and sesame oils. Demonstrating the potential for rural entrepreneurship, N. Chandrababu Naidu engaged in a lighthearted conversation with the farmer before choosing to purchase a litre of groundnut oil, following a brief consultation with his wife, Nara Bhuvaneswari. Furthermore, the Chief Minister reviewed a cow-based natural farming resource center. There, he examined the preparation of organic inputs like Jeevamrutham and Ghanajeevamrutham, which utilize locally sourced materials to enhance crop growth. The event concluded with an inspection of a local papaya orchard. The Chief Minister was accompanied throughout the day by MLA Prathipati Pulla Rao and Palnadu District Collector Krithika Shukla, highlighting the collaborative effort toward fostering rural economic growth and sustainable development across the region.
