A formal legal case has been initiated against the principal and two educators at a school in Maharashtra following allegations regarding the performance of a song during an educational event. The Partur police in Jalna district officially registered the case on Thursday. The charges brought against the school administration, specifically principal Wazhiyoddin Siddiqui and two other staff members, fall under several sections of the BNS. These include Section 152, which pertains to acts endangering the sovereignty and integrity of India, along with Section 196, Section 197, and Section 353, which relate to promoting enmity, spreading misinformation, and creating public alarm.

The situation escalated following social media activity that alleged students from Kids World English School in Partur performed to a song originating from Pakistan during an annual school function held in March 2025. Furthermore, online posts claimed that a photograph depicting the Pakistani extremist Mumtaz Qadri was showcased during the event. These allegations prompted significant outcry, leading local BJP MLA Babanrao Lonikar to call for immediate disciplinary measures, including the potential revocation of the school's recognition.
In response to the accusations, the school management has maintained a firm stance of denial. Principal Wazhiyoddin Siddiqui explained to members of the press that the audio utilized during the student performance was actually selected from the popular Turkish TV serial titled Ertugrul Ghazi. He clarified that the music was not Pakistani in origin. Regarding the disputed visual, the principal asserted that the image displayed was simply an actor from the same Turkish drama.
The school administration further suggested that the entire incident stems from malicious tampering. They claim that certain individuals intentionally modified the original visuals and circulated this misleading content on various social media platforms to incite public unrest.
