India's Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) concluded its class 1 enrollment process by the end of this month. As parents eagerly anticipate their children's chances of securing a seat in these prestigious institutions, the first merit list for Class 1 admissions will be announced on April 9th.

The Admission Process: Seats available for Bal Vatika classes (1, 2, and 3) will see the allocation list released on April 8th. For the coveted Class 1 positions, the same is set to open up just a day later. These seats must be claimed within designated dates; failure to do so may result in those children being listed on subsequent waiting lists.

Reservation Rules Under the Right to Education Act

The admission process abides by specific reservation rules: 15% for Scheduled Castes, 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes, and a combined 27% for Other Backward Classes. The remaining seats are filled through the general category.

For age eligibility, Balvatika-1 applicants must be three years old by March 31st, while Balvatika-2 requires children to be between four and five, and Balvatika-3 is open to those aged five to six.

Parents can monitor the progress online at kvsangathan.nic.in. After clicking on the relevant link, they will access a downloadable PDF with details such as their child's name and Application Submission Code.

After April 9th, the second list will surface if vacancies persist; this is followed by a third list on April 21st. Schools are tasked with uploading these information resources to both the school website and social media platforms.
