In a heartwarming display of gratitude, a 75-year-old resident from Gornal village, Nabisab Pinjar, recently returned to BLDE Hospital in Vijayapura to express his appreciation for a life-changing medical intervention. Having regained his ability to walk independently following a hip injury, Nabisab Pinjar chose a unique and meaningful way to thank the medical staff who facilitated his recovery.

Successful Surgical Recovery and Humanitarian Gesture

The journey to his full recovery began when Nabisab Pinjar suffered a severe injury to his left hip after an accidental fall. The injury left him unable to walk, causing significant concern for his mobility at his age. Upon admission to BLDE Hospital, he underwent a complex surgical procedure known as a bipolar hemiarthroplasty. This operation was performed by a medical team led by orthopedic surgeon Dr. Girish Khodnapur, who worked alongside an anesthetist to ensure the procedure's success.

Significantly, the surgery was provided free of cost under the Ayushman Bharat-Arogya Karnataka (ABARK) scheme, highlighting the impact of accessible healthcare policies. Following the procedure, the recovery process was remarkably swift. Within a few days, Nabisab Pinjar was walking comfortably again, shedding his reliance on a walking stick. This successful outcome motivated him to give back to the institution that had restored his independence.

Gratitude Through Community Contribution

During his initial hospitalization, Nabisab Pinjar observed the facility's commitment to providing daily meals to patients in the general ward. Deeply moved by this initiative, he returned to the hospital alongside his daughter and grandson, carrying sacks of rice and wheat as a personal donation to the food distribution section. His goal was simple: to contribute to the efforts that support other patients in need of care.

The medical team, including Medical Superintendent Dr. SN Bentur and Dr. Girish Khodnapur, expressed their profound appreciation for the gesture. Dr. Girish Khodnapur noted that such moments of sincere patient gratitude serve as a powerful inspiration for healthcare professionals to continue their work with renewed dedication. He further credited the institutional vision of BLDE Institution President MB Patil and Chancellor BM Patil for fostering an environment where quality treatment remains a priority for every patient. The donated grains were successfully handed over to the hospital administration, marking a memorable conclusion to a transformative patient experience.
