Volkswagen has begun testing its upcoming Taigun facelift for the Indian market in preparation for a 2026 launch. This midsize SUV segment is seeing a significant redesign wave, with competitors like Honda, Tata, and MG stepping up their game.
Camouflaged test cars on Indian roads are already sporting a new grille, redesigned LED headlamps, and updated front bumpers, indicating the next-gen Volkswagen Taigun will follow suit. The new 10.1-inch infotainment system and digital instrument cluster will continue, along with safety features like six airbags, ABS, and traction control.
The SUV is expected to retain its popular 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine, but a switch to an eight-speed automatic transmission from the current six-speed could be a welcome enhancement.
