The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is actively expanding its footprint across India to foster the reach of Sanatana Dharma. Through an ambitious nationwide temple expansion program, the organization plans to establish dedicated Sri Venkateswara Swamy temples in various states and Union Territories. This initiative follows a strategic directive from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, aimed at making the spiritual legacy of Tirumala more accessible to devotees residing far beyond the borders of Andhra Pradesh.
Strategic Nationwide Expansion of Sanatana Dharma
Currently, the TTD trust board oversees the management of the prestigious temple in Tirumala along with 65 other sacred sites across the country. Under the leadership of TTD Chairman BR Naidu, the organization has officially approved the development of new religious centers in states such as Assam, Bihar, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and the city of Mumbai. These projects are intended to act as hubs for spiritual learning and the promotion of cultural activities rooted in Sanatana Dharma.
In Bihar, the local government has demonstrated significant support by allocating 15 acres of land near Patna for a new temple complex. Chairman BR Naidu recently engaged with Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary to coordinate this development. The upcoming site, situated on the banks of the Ganga River near a major national highway, is planned to include essential facilities for pilgrims, such as a Kalyana Mandapam and a Pushkarini, ensuring that the temple functions as more than just a place of worship.
Infrastructure Progress in Assam
The commitment to this nationwide outreach is also evident in the Northeast. The TTD has successfully taken possession of 10 acres of land in Amerigog village, located within Assam's Kamrup Metropolitan district. The formal registration process was completed with the cooperation of the Assam government, and land documents were handed over directly to the TTD delegation. This particular project gained significant momentum following constructive discussions between BR Naidu and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma last year.
By creating these interconnected spiritual centers, the TTD aims to preserve and propagate the traditions of Sanatana Dharma. As the expansion progresses, the board remains focused on identifying further opportunities to establish presence in additional states and union territories, strengthening the cultural and religious ties across the nation through these sacred Sri Venkateswara Swamy temples.
