Toyota India has officially launched a new entry-level 'E' variant of the popular Toyota Rumion, priced at just ₹9.56 lakh (ex-showroom), aiming at customers who seek a premium vehicle with Toyota's brand value and longevity at an affordable price point.

From the large chrome-surround front grille to the stylish LED taillamps and 15-inch sturdy steel wheels with silver wheel caps, the new 'E' variant of Rumion captures attention with its premium aesthetic. It also includes standard features such as six airbags, hill hold assist, four power windows, and rear parking sensors, offering a high-quality touch for its budget.

However, some features such as an in-built audio system, manually adjustable IRVM, rear AC vents, and ABS with EBD have been omitted to keep the price low and make it more accessible to budget-conscious buyers. Despite these omissions, the new 'E' variant ensures essential safety and convenience features.

Powering the new 'E' variant is the same reliable 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine as seen in other models, producing a maximum power of 103 bhp and peak torque of 137 Nm. The new 'E' trim offers a 5-speed manual gearbox, with higher variants like G and V providing a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission option. The Rumion's CNG variant, introduced for those preferring a cleaner option, features impressive fuel economy, generating 88 bhp and 121.5 Nm of torque on 26.11 km/kg.

Offering great competition to vehicles like the Maruti Ertiga and Kia Carens, the Rumion's launch marks a strong entry into the affordable 7-seater MPV market. Pricing for the different variants includes ₹9.56 lakh for the new 'E' variant, ₹10.51 lakh for the 'S' manual, and ₹11.40 lakh for the 'S' CNG.
