Japanese automotive giant Toyota is set to introduce its new high-strength SUV, the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ, to the Indian market this year. Dubbed the ‘mini Fortuner’ and ‘baby Land Cruiser’, this vehicle, debuting at the October 2025 Mobility Show, promises to be a favorite among off-road enthusiasts.
The Land Cruiser FJ is built on an IMV body-on-frame platform similar to Fortuner, Hilux, and Innova Crysta, ensuring superior strength. It features a boxy design with classic Land Cruiser styling, wide wheels, and an aggressive front grille, making it stand out.
Internally, the Land Cruiser FJ offers comfort with a spacious 5-seat layout and modern features such as a 12.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Toyota’s advanced connected vehicle technology.
For powering these advanced features, Toyota has announced a 2.7-liter petrol engine capable of generating around 163 PS of power and 246 Nm of torque paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. A hybrid option is expected with improved fuel efficiency of 18-20 kmpl.
Toyota’s dedication to safety is evident with standard safety features like Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, seven airbags, and 360-degree camera. The Price range for the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is expected to be between ₹25 lakh to ₹35 lakh (ex-showroom).
