HYDERABAD, India: The Telangana High Court has issued a directive to maintain the status quo regarding the demolition work carried out by HYDRAA authorities at Zresta Villa in Kokapet, Gandipet mandal of Rangareddy district. In its ruling, Justice Nagesh Bheemapaka observed that demolitions on disputed land without serving prior notice and considering pending litigation were improper.

Litigation Hangs Over Zresta Villa's Controversial Land Use

The legal battle began when the Zresta Villa Owners Maintenance Mutually Aided Cooperative Society, which manages the residential complex, challenged the alleged illegal entry and demolition by HYDRAA officials on May 26. The total extent of land in Survey No. 84 of Kokapet is 8 acres and 10 guntas, out of which a portion was acquired by the government for a proposed pond development, while the remaining developed through an agreement with Goldfish Adobe Private Limited.

According to records, villas were constructed and handed over to buyers in 2019. A dispute over 1.09 acres already exists before another competent court.

The cooperative society also highlighted that HYDRAA conducted markings on March 31 after receiving a complaint from Anil Reddy but did not provide copies of the complaint or related documents to them. Despite attempts to meet with HYDRAA officials and present their case, the cooperative alleges they were not heard.

The court has issued notices to all relevant authorities including HYDRAA, the Chief Secretary of the Municipal Administration Department, GHMC (Gandipet Housing Management Committee), and the Police. They are required to file complete documentation in response to these notices.
