From the sprawling semiconductor fabrication facilities to the dynamic fields of electric vehicles and cutting-edge artificial intelligence, Telangana is witnessing a surge in tech-driven diplomas as the state prepares to launch its annual TGPOLYCET 2026 counselling.Telangana's technology corridor, centered around Hyderabad, mirrors these industrial developments closely. The first phase of TGPOLYCET 2026 begins on May 27, with certificate verification starting from May 29 and running until June 1.

TG POLYCET 2026 Key Dates

Web options close on June 3, while seat allotments will be announced by June 6. This year, a total of 33,140 diploma seats are available across 111 polytechnic colleges: 18,788 in government institutions and 14,352 in private unaided colleges. An additional 2,930 seats are designated for the Economically Weaker Section category.

The technology landscape showcases impressive growth in emerging fields. The Semiconductor Technology program offers 720 seats, while Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI & ML) sees a significant expansion with 990 seats. Similarly, Automation and Robotics, Electric Vehicle Technology, Cyber Physical Systems and Security, and Cloud Computing and Big Data have also been introduced or expanded.

Computer Science and Engineering, traditionally leading the way with 6,490 seats, is followed closely by Electrical and Electronics Engineering (5,385) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (5,305). To support students through this process, a total of 70 helpline centers have been established, including all 59 government polytechnics.
