Tata Motors has recently unveiled the Tata Tiago EV Facelift, an enhanced model that significantly lowers entry costs and adds new features while maintaining a robust 24kWh battery with impressive range.
Price and Ownership Models
The new Tata Tiago EV Facelift offers two ownership models. The ex-showroom price starts at ₹6,990,000 without the Battery as a Service (BaaS) plan, with the BaaS model available starting from ₹4,690,000. This makes it one of the most affordable electric hatchbacks in India.
Under the BaaS plan, customers enjoy reduced upfront costs by paying only ₹2.6 per kilometer for battery usage. A lifetime warranty on the 24kWh variant ensures strong consumer trust, with a guarantee that the battery will be covered for an unlimited distance and kilometers.
Battery Pack and Range
The Tata Tiago EV Facelift houses a potent 24kWh lithium-ion battery delivering 36 horsepower (75 hp) of power and 114 Nm of torque. With a claimed range of up to 285 kilometers, its real-world performance is around 205 to 215 kilometers. Tata has strategically avoided increasing the battery size for better value for money and optimal charging times.
Notably, it supports fast DC charging from 10% to 80% in just 35 minutes, while a quick charge of 18 minutes can add 100 kilometers of range. This impressive charging capability ensures users can recharge efficiently wherever they are without significant delays.
Design and Appearance
The new design features a sleek, modern face with the traditional grille removed, replaced by a body-colored blanked-off front face. The car also introduces LED headlights shaped like eyebrows, enhancing its striking appearance at night. Six new color options are available, including Dehradun Dew and Sobo Surge, providing customers vibrant styling choices.
Interior Features
The cabin boasts a dual-toned dashboard with gloss-black inserts, light gray accents, and a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This complements advanced safety features such as a 360-degree surround-view camera system and blind-spot monitoring for safer city driving.
The vehicle includes a redesigned two-spoke steering wheel, a digital driver display with Bluetooth connectivity, wireless charging pads, and automatic climate control with new rear AC vents. These upgrades enhance the comfort and practicality of everyday use while maintaining affordability.
