New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch the Land Port Management System (LPMS), a digital platform designed to streamline operations across India's border trade points, on Tuesday. The system aims to reduce delays and improve operational efficiency by integrating various government agencies and private operators under one unified workflow.
Key Features of LPMS
The LPMS will enable real-time exchange of logistics and regulatory information, crucial for cargo and passenger processing. Key national platforms such as ICEGATE, ULIP, and the motor vehicle ecosystem are fully integrated into this system to ensure interoperable, efficient, and transparent border management.
With end-to-end digital workflows, LPMS will offer functionalities like slot booking, payments, tracking, and single-window clearances. The platform's interoperability aligns land port operations with existing systems used at airports and seaports, signifying the Narendra Modi government's commitment to smart border management.
The launch also includes stakeholder accommodation facilities in Dawki, Meghalaya, and Srimantapur, Tripura, further emphasizing the government's attention to infrastructure development at border trade points.
