French automaker Renault is set to bring its new subcompact SUV, the Renault Bridger, to the Indian market, aiming to challenge established off-road vehicles like the Maruti Jimny and Mahindra Thar.
Officially codenamed RB3-K2 and positioned as a ‘mini Duster’, the Bridger is set to hit the streets by Diwali 2027. It will offer consumers a stylish, budget-friendly SUV with multiple powertrain options including petrol, hybrid, and electric.
With an estimated starting price of ₹10 lakh, the Bridger will cater to those who wish to get an ‘off-road’ experience without breaking the bank. The platform, built on Renault’s new R-GMP modular platform, is expected to be competitively priced in India.
Renault has planned to sell over 80,000 to 90,000 units of the Bridger annually, positioning it below the new Renault Duster and above the Renault Kiger in the marketplace.
