Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to announce the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme, providing farmers with an invaluable ₹2,000 deposit into their bank accounts. This direct transfer will take place on Friday, March 13, 2026.

The announcement will be made at an event in Guwahati, Assam. The government will facilitate this transfer through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. Last year, the Prime Minister unveiled the 21st installment of the scheme on November 19, 2025, during a ceremony in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a vital initiative by the central government, aimed at assisting eligible farmers each year. The ₹6,000 each year allocated is divided into three equal installments, helping farmers with expenses related to agricultural necessities such as seeds, fertilizers, and tools.

For farmers seeking to verify their eligibility, they can check their names on the official PM-Kisan website. They must follow a series of simple steps - visit the website, navigate to the farmer's corner, select the Beneficiary List, and input their state, district, block, and village to receive their list.

However, farmers who acquired land after February 1, 2019, or have more than one beneficiary in their household are ineligible for the next installment. The government has also made Farmer IDs mandatory in 14 states to streamline the registration process, though this requirement varies by state.
