The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that a comprehensive nationwide mock drill will be conducted this Saturday. This exercise serves as a critical final preparation phase ahead of the NEET-UG re-examination, which is scheduled to take place this Sunday. The primary goal of this large-scale rehearsal is to ensure the secure, efficient, and seamless administration of the upcoming test for thousands of students.
Ensuring Secure NEET-UG Re-Examination Procedures
According to an official statement released on Friday, the NTA is fully prepared to manage the logistical challenges of the NEET-UG re-examination. To maintain the highest standards of integrity, district administrations, local police forces, and dedicated escort teams have been tasked with the sensitive duty of transporting confidential examination materials. This multi-layered security approach is designed to prevent any potential breaches during the transit of test papers.
The NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination is set to occur from 2 pm to 5.15 pm, utilizing a traditional pen-and-paper format. The test will be administered across 551 cities throughout India, along with 14 international locations, accommodating over 22.79 lakh registered candidates. For students with disabilities who qualify for compensatory time, the examination window will be extended until 6.20 pm.
Logistical Coordination and Monitoring
The scale of the NEET-UG re-examination requires significant organizational coordination. The NTA has confirmed that 674 city coordinators have been appointed to oversee regional operations. Additionally, 6,669 independent observers have been deployed to various examination centers to ensure rigorous and neutral monitoring throughout the day.
To uphold the transparency and fairness of the process, center superintendents and invigilators have been officially appointed at every testing venue. Furthermore, more than 2 lakh personnel, consisting of members from local police departments and district administrative bodies, have been mobilized to provide the necessary support and oversight.
