A new Vande Bharat Express service is set to revolutionize rail travel in Jammu and Kashmir, following the recent expansion of the direct train service between Srinagar and Jammu.
Beginning on March 1st, the Vande Bharat Express will offer a more streamlined journey, directly connecting passengers from Jammu to Srinagar, bypassing the need for separate travel to Katra as it did previously. This change not only saves time for passengers but also significantly improves the overall comfort of the journey.
The new service is expected to serve seven intermediate stops, accommodating the growing number of passengers during peak travel times. The train's rake structure has been modified to include up to 20 coaches, ensuring that there is ample space for all passengers during the tourist and holiday seasons.
Although the service originally faced delays due to infrastructure improvements at the Jammu Railway Station, these have now been completed, paving the way for the March 1st launch in the Vande Bharat service.
