Pavan Kumar, who served as a deputy inspector within the department of survey and land records at the Revenue Divisional Office, was apprehended while allegedly accepting illicit funds from a member of the public.

According to official statements provided by Jagadish Chandra, the DSP of the Nalgonda range, the suspect was taken into custody near the local collectorate. The arrest was executed as part of a targeted sting operation after a complainant reported being pressured for a bribe. It is alleged that G. Pavan Kumar demanded a total of 35,000 rupees to process and issue an official survey report concerning land properties belonging to the complainant's mother and aunt.
Prior to this incident, the official had reportedly already secured an advance payment of 20,000 rupees from the individual. Following this initial demand, the complainant reached out to the Anti-Corruption Bureau to report the misconduct. In response, officials prepared a trap using currency notes treated with chemicals to track the illegal transaction.

The trap successfully caught the official in the act while he was attempting to collect the remaining 15,000 rupees. Following the intervention, the hands of G.
